Sausage Provolone Burger

It’s Burger Week! On today’s menu is a sausage provolone burger. This is a simple and delicious creation I’ve made for you all to try. The fresh basil, the gooey cheese, and juicy meat is EPIC! Come along with me and I will reveal these delicious burger secrets!!!!!

What you will need:

This recipe will make two burgers at the size I did in the tutorial. However if made smaller you can get 4 burgers total.

1 Uncased Italian Sausage

1 Uncased Hot Italian Sausage

1 pound of Ground Beef

1/8 tsp of Salt

1 bunch of Fresh Basil

1 Cup of Marinara Sauce

4 Slices of Provolone Cheese

1 Butter Bun

Prep:

In a large bowl combine sausages and ground beef. Be sure not to over mix. Fold the sausage meat into the ground beef until incorporated. Form the pattie and sit aside.

Cook:

Preheat a large skillet on medium high heat. Once heated, salt one side of the burger and place it in the skillet the salted side down, Then salt the other side and let cook. Cook the burger for about 3 minutes to develop deep caramelization. Flip the burger to the other side and then turn the heat down. Cover with the top of the skillet with foil and cook for 3-5 minutes. You want to make sure that this burger is cooked through due to the sausage. Once cooked through, top with marinara sauce and provolone cheese.

With the same foil, cover the skillet and allow the steam to melt the cheese. This will take about 30-45 secs. Remove the burger from the skillet once the cheese has melted. Add your butter bun to the skillet and cook for 1 minute. Remove from the pan and build the sandwich.

Place the burger on the toasted bun and then place a few pieces of fresh basil on top.

Serve:

This can be served with veggies, salad, fries, or fruit. I ate it alone and it was magic!

Happy Cooking.

xoxo
